    SITE NEWS: RUNTIMES ADDED

    March 29, 2012 SITE NEWS

We have had an exciting week.

    - I was very touched by the awesome response generated from a Facebook post. We asked you to ‘like’ us on Facebook. We received over 40 responses in under 24 hours. WOW. Very touched. You can SEE THE POST HERE.

    - We had our first competition winner and our Facebook page has a brand new logo!  For those of you attached to the crescent moon, it can still be seen HERE.  Check out or competition HERE.   And the winner is….. CLICK HERE TO SEE OUR NEW FACEBOOK COVER PHOTO AND PROFILE PHOTO!

    - I am also proud that DocumentaryStorm is fast becoming THE place for documentary fans to get exclusive footage. This week, we brought you three documentary projects where you have the opportunity to have direct contact with the director and a major influence on the project.
First, we brought you GINGER GIRLS. The project received a huge response. See HERE and HERE.

Next, we brought you an exclusive series on Sexuality. Every month, we’ll bring you the latest installment.  Your comments are being seen by the producer. CHECK OUT HER REPLY.

Finally, we brought you raw footage from a documentary-in-the-making about a homeless man who numbs the pain with alcohol and lifts his soul with music. The director responded to your comments. CLICK HERE TO VIEW.

I am very happy to be bringing these documentary makers into contact with the DocumentaryStorm crowd and I’m sure they value your opinions.

    - We have also been bringing you many full-length documentaries and on a variety of sources.

    - We have started putting the LENGTH of each documentary. This is a time consuming process and most of the back catalog documentary lengths will be updated in our next design update.

    - Here is a personal favorite discovery of the week: THE LOVE COMPETITION, a touching, scientific competition about love.  CLICK HERE.

    Tons of work…very rewarding.

    Have a great week.

    - Benjy

    March 21, 2012 Site News

As many of you know, the website got a new owner almost two weeks ago.
Since then, this is what I’ve done

    1) fix almost all of the broken videos.

    2) add ‘related documentary’ thumbs beneath each documentary.

    3) change the rating system (make sure to vote for your favorite documentaries!)

    4) Held a contest for a new logo (winner being announced today!)

    5) Increased the new documentaries from Sundays/Wednesdays to SEVEN days per week.

    6) I’ve started bringing you more indie and obscure documentaries, as well.

    7) There are also trailers for upcoming documentaries

More changes coming soon. I hope everyone likes what they are seeing.
    All the best,
    - Benjy

    JONAS:

We have an exciting announcement to make.

I have loved watching DocumentaryStorm grow. It has developed into a full-time job, one which has taken me away from my personal life.
So, it gives me great pleasure to announce that DocumentaryStorm is now under the ownership of Benjy. He is an avid documentary fan, and has already been posting new documentaries onto the site for the last little while. I Hope you enjoy them. (He will also reply to this message with an introduction of himself).

I am still going to be involved and I am confident Benjy will be able to continue his work on this great site.
Please give a warm welcome to Benjy.

    BENJY:

    Hi Everyone,

Jonas and I have been talking about this for many months and I’m extremely excited to finally introduce myself to you all.
Like Jonas says, I have already been updating DocumentaryStorm and responding to comments on Facebook. It was very important to us both that the transition be absolutely seamless.

Before I talk about my hopes and dreams for DocumentaryStorm, I’d like to take this opportunity to ask everyone to thank Jonas for his incredible work on the website. It is because of him that we are all here today and able to enjoy all of these fantastic documentaries. I am going to be updating the ‘About” page and it will pay tribute to Jonas. Jonas is still going to be involved like before – so this is hardly a ‘goodbye,’ but just a chance to give thanks.

I’ve got some big dreams for DocumentaryStorm. I am a huge documentary junkie and I hope that you sense my passion spilling out into the site. I’d love to hear everyone’s ideas and to empower this community to have a bigger voice in the documentary industry. So, write your comments below or email me through the contact form.
    Thanks, everyone!

    Benjy
