  • Cocalero

    Cocalero

Born out of the U.S. war on drugs, an Aymara Indian named Evo Morales — backed by a troop of coca leaf farmers — travels through the Andes and Amazon in jeans and sneakers, leading a historic bid to become Bolivia’s first Indigenous president.

The filmmakers, granted astonishing up close and personal access to Evo, capture the intimate moments of this controversial figure and his triumphant rise to power. A story of geopolitics, people’s movements, Indigenous culture, and one man’s impressive determination, Cocalero is “a luminous portrait of working people in rare triumph against U.S. imperialism”

Dreamers such as these documentarians never follow up … Evo Morales’ government is ineffective. Just with goodwill and hopes for your people does not make for an capable country in the internationsl sphere.
Did anyone notice that the candidate for deputy could not work out a balance sheet, even with a calculator? That all you need to run a Union and a Government is honesty (not a degree, or even how to speak Spanish, read or write), as explained in the women’s empowerment seminar?
These are good people, that have always been railroaded by North American, European, Chilean and Brazilian interests … they need some true smarts on their side, not isolationism – nor Aymara/Quechua Utopian ideals.
      Good luck Bolivia !
