    Dying and Dinner Parties

Ten years ago Kathleen volunteered for hospice care and has since then been preparing for her own death.

Even with a terminal illness she continues on with good humor and a buddhist-like sensibility – seeing her flight from life as just another thing that happens – just like her fabulous dinner parties.

Hospice care provides humane care for terminally-ill people in the last phases of their life as well as for the families of those who are in the last stages of their life. Since filming this film, Kathleen has passed away.

This is a two minute segment of the documentary film “Lessons for the Living” which will be released Dec. 2011.

Director Lily Henderson. Cinematographer: Ed David. Producer: Leslie Koren, Shani Hashaviah.

I am looking forward to seeing this entire documentqary. I am a hospice nurse and would love to see more nurse and end of life related documentaries. i do enjoy the variety of other subjects but death and dying is pretty good, subject; many folks could use education about the process and about what hospice is and means for patients today, Johnson and Johnson has a series of documentaries about nurses which are pretty good, Thnk they are on youtube. Love the site
