My interest in aviation -brought me to flight test areas and air force bases across the length and breadth of the US.-including Nellis AFB, and Edwards.

On one occasion I took a commercial flight from Reno to Las Vegas-which overflew the barren landscape of Red Flag’ operations. Not at the same time, mind you. That would just be dumb;-and picked up by the E-3.

This documentary which I saw originally on an IMAX screen at the Cape in Florida -brings back memories of a particular light and heat-that is found at Nellis AFB Nevada-and indeed a few hundred miles west -on the high desert of Edwards AFB.

Impressively talented and hard working women and men at these bases.

      So forgive the ‘editorial’

If network tv in native Ireland and around the world -aired more documentaries on responsible and selfless service-whether in medicine /EMT/ambulance service A/E or in avaition in general —-as a model-rather than the ‘celebrity crass pop culture’—-society would be better for it-perhaps.

No wonder Michael Collins (pilot/astronaut)-is not impressed by current trends.

The above comment is semi-coherent and contains
grammatical errors which are just plain pathetic.

I am not trying to be mean-spirited, but I am very tired
of reading drivel written by stupid people.

I was overseas. I see ‘comment’. Who is this Fred ‘Flinstone’ Smith-and, why?

I often type fast, with a nagging suspicion that somewere (singularly located, dark, and empty) a cretin would emerge with nothing to do, but use a grammar and spell check, for his own GCSE foundation tier Grade G, ‘parasitic comment ‘; on comment.

Had I been writing to Noam Chomsky, I would not have used ‘spaces’ to punctuate-supra . I wasn’t writing to Noam, on this occasion.

Freddie Smith grunts that ‘he is not trying to be mean spirited’ He is,- both!
Mean and trying. Doubtlessly, ‘he’ would see that, as a success.

The word ‘hypocrite’ ; and a few other adjectives, springs to mind, for ‘no picture ID -’Smith’

—-If people can be educated to see the shadow-side of their nature clearly, it may be hoped that they will also learn to understand . A little less hypocrisy and a little more self-knowledge can only have good results;…for we are all too prone to transfer to others, the injustice and violence we inflict upon our own natures”

‘somewere for somewhere’—was just to make you happier, Mr Smith.

@ Fred Funny I was thinking something similar about what you have written. Time for your happy pill Fred?

I don’t think you should give it much thought :-)

              Yes, Jonas,…

I am all for posting ‘on the subject’ .

This one ‘opinion’ was off topic, by a distance. If I was writing about Prof Chomsky; the syntax might even be worth moaning about.

I was writing my first DS comment from personal experience on Edwards AFB Red Flag!

Yes, I did give his ‘idiocy’, too much thought! Fred ‘Smyth’ or is it ‘West’ didn’t have a thought, on the actual subject of the Documentary,

If he has a thought, at all, it would be a very lonely orphan (based on his experience reading ‘-Grammar for the Embittered Pedant’!)

For such a contributory website, Jonas- comment ‘screening’ wouldn’t break the First Amendment.

Or just ask people to add something -to the topic; not subtract.

What if everyone ‘knuckelled typed bitterness’?. You wouldn’t have room for visual content, Jonas.

Mutual respect if not natural for Fred, is nevertheless still common, and ideal.

              Right? Ok-I’m off the soapbox!

              MA

              Bye to
              Wrong says Fred!

              Maurice,

I would appreciate it if you didn’t take my words to you out of context. I would also appreciate it if you didn’t stir drama over reactions to your comment.

Please focus on the documentaries, thanks.

          Fred Smith,

personal attacks are not welcome, please focus your discussion on the documentary itself.
