Another one of those “This video is no longer available because the up-loader has closed their (should be his or her since its singular) YouTube account” videos. *sighs* Really annoying. All the best docs are always down.

I enjoyed this as well, I’d like to see more documentaries like this, sort of ‘off the wall’. There is far too many space documentaries now days that just repeat what each other say and are about theories or ‘what could be’ instead of what is, it’s good to watch something closer to home.

    • Rinpoche

This is archive footage of a 1973 (I believe that was the date) trip to UK by small group of monks from North India. Shows them at home in their monastery and then as they perform a tantric ritual in London, UK. Also includes historical footage of Tibet before 1970s. It does not explain their spirituality. It simply allows viewers to sample a tantric ritual from the outside — as the Dalai Lama explains this has spiritual benefit for the viewer but it is not ‘cover’ the subject. If you wish to learn more then you need to practice and learn through experience. Fascinating historical documentary. Very poor sound quality but gives a real sense of the intense impact of the chanting and music which occurs in this tradition. Maybe for the serious student rather than the casual viewer? I enjoyed it but I have unusual tastes.
