Yes cavads, I smell a whiff of the very same crap from as you say, a fascist apologist. I know people who came to Scotland. They were very lucky to be there. The father was in the National Stadium but managed to get out before being murdered but not before being tortured. My dad, being a trade unionist and modern languages teacher, befriended him and taught him English which he picked up incredibly well. For this the payment was that his new Chilean friend fix our damn black and white telly that my dad was too tight to replace.

I’m glad to say the family fitted in and have settled well in Scotland. But what terrible memories ‘Chile’ had.

Dear friends: the Allende years were not time of progress and hapiness. I lived them, son of an apolitical middle-class family. Those 3 years were of waste by the Nomeklatura Chilena [Corvalan, Altamirano, et al.] who not only ran from confronting the situation, but None of them went to live in Moscow, Havanna, Prague, Peking … I remember listening to Radio Moscow, and at then end of one interview, the “leader” of Chile in Exile said: Yes, Companero, we shall continue the struggle from Amsterdam … The Chilean Left used to call themsleves the most pro-Moscow of any … They abandoneded all their Companeros, the ones who worked for a living and believed in their Irrational Utopian rhetoric, to be one ones who were tortured and “disappeared”, while making meeting after meeting of platitudes in the great Capitals of Europe and Latin America … Those were the days when the conservately structured and orderly country, poor but progressing, was in a Tug of War, between, the USA and the Soviet Block. Violence against those that had a decent economic situation, on behalf of the Left; Artificial Food and Goods orchestrated by the USA, on behalf of the Right … and the poor Carabineros, Chilean Police, to fight a 3 way battle wiht the out-of-control politicized citizenry. By 1973, Dr. Allende, a man with good feelings, but no character, had lost the power to Rule, pushed by the higher ups of the Chilean Left Wing, was drinking Chivas Regal as if was going out of style, to placate the pain of a country in chaos … The Armed Forces had been venerate for more than a Century, were asked on a Front Page, to: Please Do Something ! Planned by the C.I.A., with Brazilian Military help, a distabilazation plot ended in the taking of power from the Dr Allende. The President did kill himself, as he had been betrayed by General Pinochet and his officers, who asked the good Dr. to postpone till Wednesday, September 12, his announcement of a Plebiscite to sort out the future of the country on Monday, September 9th; and, the loss of control via the Communist and Socilast parties who brought the presence ever increasing of Cuban, Soviet and Chinese advisor. Chile was lost either way, it went to the Military, who although made it the Shining Star of Latin America, killed thousands to get there, a high price to pay, even in the view of this Conservative-leaning writer. The almost 2 decade Military government left a divided, classist, arrogant, disrespectful to its neighbors country.

Oh shut up you fucking Fascist apologist. Your shitty pseudo political essay means fuck all to those who experienced the reality of what really happened in Chile and beyond at that time.

No excuses…this was a Democratically Elected Government so deal with it Frat Boy or shut the fuck up!

I’ll betcha that you’re one of the ugly ones who would STILL support the use of systematic torture and sudden disappearances of those who would dare to stand up to your perverted ideas of freedom.

        No Excuses!
