    Shadow Company

With the situation in Iraq one of the key problems facing the incoming U.S. President, see the most comprehensive documentary about private military companies. Winner of 4 LEO Film and TV awards, used as research for the movie “Blood Diamond”, screened on Capitol Hill and praised by Amnesty International, this balanced documentary is a must see for anyone who wants to know how the rules of war have changed. Voiced by “300″ star Gerard Butler.

With over $100 Billion in annual revenues and 70000 employees in Iraq alone, the private military industry is booming, yet few civilians know anything about it. Shadow Company, a groundbreaking feature-length documentary, takes you deep inside this secret world that is changing the face of modern warfare. What are we really risking by allowing profit-motivated corporations into the business of war?

From a moral and ethical standpoint I can easily say I disagree with the idea and use of “Guns for Hire”. There is the issue of liability when it comes to an international organization not actively monitored by the UN or governments in which they base out of. When an individual fights not for an ideological or political belief (That would require a show of force) but for economic benefit, then that individual loses the right (morally and ethically) to bear arms. The fact to the matter is mercenary organizations will always exist, the international community would serve itself best by highly regulating such activities by these organizations to hold them accountable for their actions.

War should be fought over religious, political and humanitarian equality (and even then peace should be sought by the pen and not the sword), not for the economic benefit of soldiers and their organization or the organizations that hire them.

@Fred Smith, I do not believe anyone deserves to be brutally destroyed and mutilated like those of Blackwater in Fallujah. If a man must die let it be swift and with dignity, even if that man was without it in life.

What is not common public knowledge is that the American mercenaries in Fallujah were using ammunition which is illegal under the Geneva Convention, and which causes horrific wounds to the
person who is shot with it.

It’s no wonder the mercenaries were killed and hung from the bridge, if someone invaded your country and
used weapons which were terrible and illegal to kill someone you cared about, you might want to see those bastards hung from a bridge too.

I have no sympathy for those who accept money to
kill other people. Whatever terrible things happen to these mercenaries they fully deserve.
