Strangeways

Episode 1

The first episode focuses on the importance of strong family ties in helping prisoners to cope with their sentence. At its centre is the relationship between armed robber Adrian Fielding and his fiancee Kelly Hansen.

After he robbed a post office and went on the run, it was Kelly who encouraged Adrian to give himself up. Coming to terms with the fact that he will not be released for at least another two years, the couple decided to get married in Strangeways and cameras follow Kelly and Adrian on their special day – the first time a prison wedding has been shown on TV.

Released in June, 2011. 45 min. TV documentary series.

    2 minutes into it….”some of the most violent men..rapist..drug dealers..” haha, so crazy how a “drug dealer” is lumped together with someone whom has chopped up people..molested children…raped and tortured women…well , i see a problem from the get go.

    It’s a long time ago now, but my Grandfather was one of a team of IRA men who helped 6 prisoners escape Strangeways (including Austin Stack). My father always said, only an Irishman wold break into Strangeways!
