  • Taboo: Blood Bonds

    Taboo: Blood Bonds

What kind of family is taboo for you? Not all families consist of a husband, wife, and their dependent children. At the roof of the world, where India meets Tibet, there is a 5,000-year old tradition known as polyandry–when a woman marries a man, she may also marry his brothers all at the same time.

In southwest China, Mosuo people are known as fanciers of free love, with no such thing as traditional marriage–or even a word for “father.”

And in Capetown, South Africa, gangs that terrorize the streets through robbing, selling drugs and killing become surrogate families to young men from the ghetto.

Released in 2004. TV documentary, part of National Geographic’s Taboo documentary series.

    This is a trailer.

Very good documentary! Very interesting. Had to load the whole thing before playing because it was slow…
But…where is the rest of it? Seems to only be part of it here. :(

    • Yah Boo

Takes too long to load and the video ‘sticks’ continually. Unwatchable! Pity, it looked interesting.
